Destination Huehuetenango, Guatemala

Welcome to our newest coffee destination, flight path takes us high above the clouds to the rugged, breathtaking mountains of Huehuetenango, Guatemala—a legendary origin known to coffee lovers worldwide for producing some of the most extraordinary coffees on Earth.

The Terroir: High-Altitude Mastery

Grown at elevations ranging from 1,500 to 2,000 meters above sea level, these coffee cherries mature slowly in the crisp, cool mountain air. Huehuetenango benefits from a unique geographical microclimate: hot, dry winds blow in from the plains of Tehuantepec in neighboring Mexico, mixing with the cool breezes descending from the Cuchumatanes mountains.

This constant airflow protects the coffee trees from frost and allows the cherries to develop complex sugars, vibrant acidity, and profound depth of flavor. Grown by dedicated smallholder farmers who hand-pick only the ripest cherries and process them using traditional washed methods, every batch tells a story of heritage, patience, and meticulous craft.

Tasting Notes & Profile

As you pour your first cup, you are immediately greeted by a warm, inviting aroma that fills the room.

  • Caramel: A rich, buttery sweetness anchors the cup, offering a smooth and velvety body that coats the palate.

  • Brown Sugar: As the coffee cools slightly, notes of deep, unrefined brown sugar emerge, adding a luscious, comforting sweetness reminiscent of fresh bakery treats.

  • Almond: A subtle, clean nutty finish rounds out the experience, leaving a lingering, sophisticated warmth that makes you want to take just one more sip.

With a medium body, with a very subtle citrus-like acidity, and a remarkably clean finish, this Guatemalan single-origin is remarkably versatile. Whether brewed as a crisp pour-over, a rich French press, or a velvety espresso, it delivers an incredible in flavor balance.
