Gifts for Coffee Lovers in Canada: Ideas for Every Budget

Gifts for Coffee Lovers in Canada: Ideas for Every Budget

The easiest gift for a coffee lover is coffee they have not tried yet, and the best gifts after that are the things that make their morning cup better. This guide groups our coffees, brewers and gear by budget, with what each one is and who it suits, so you can pick something they will actually use. Every price is in Canadian dollars, and orders over $80 ship free in Canada.

What is the best gift for a coffee lover?

If you only buy one thing, make it our Sample Pack "5" ($40). It holds all five of our signature roasts in 120 gram bags, ground or whole bean, so they get a tasting flight instead of a guess. The Sample Pack is sold online only, for delivery or for pickup at either of our Guelph cafés.

Coffee gifts under $25

  • A bag of coffee ($22, 340 g): pick a roast from the guide further down. Our signature roasts are $22 a bag.
  • Camping Mug ($16.50): enamelled steel, dishwasher safe, and it holds 12 oz.
  • Coffee is my Copilot mug ($15.04): a 14 oz mug for anyone who likes a fuller cup.
  • Hario V60 Dripper 02, plastic ($10.62): the lowest-cost way into pour-over coffee.
  • AeroPress Filters ($8.85): 350 micro-filters, a stocking stuffer for anyone who already owns an AeroPress.
  • Logo toque ($24): a thicker knit with a fleece lining.

Coffee gifts from $25 to $50

Coffee gifts over $50

  • AeroPress ($53.10): brews in under a minute, and its micro-filters remove the grit you get from other presses. A good fit for someone who drinks one cup at a time.
  • ESPRO Ultralight Coffee Press ($65): a double-walled, vacuum-insulated travel press for grit-free coffee anywhere, for the camper, commuter or frequent flyer.
  • 5 lb bag of coffee ($108, 2.27 kg): for an office, a big household or the most dedicated coffee drinker you know, in our most popular roasts.

Can you give a coffee subscription as a gift?

Yes. A coffee subscription keeps arriving long after the wrapping paper is gone. Choose a roast and how often it ships on the product page, and select Subscribe & Save: the first order is 20% off and every order after that is 10% off. Subscriptions are easy to manage, pause or cancel.

Should you give whole bean or ground coffee?

Give whole bean if they own a grinder, and ground if they do not. Freshness is the reason:

“If you use CO₂ degassing as a guide, whole bean coffee can reasonably be considered ‘fresh’ within about three weeks of roasting. Since ground coffee loses CO₂ much more quickly, it might be considered ‘fresh’ for about an hour after grinding.”

Peter Giuliano, Senior Advisor for Scientific Communication, Specialty Coffee Association

Every bag on our site is available ground or whole bean, so if you are not sure whether they own a grinder, choose ground.

Which roast should you choose?

Can you buy a Lost Aviator gift card?

Our gift and loyalty cards are sold in store at our Guelph cafés. Load any amount, earn 5% of each purchase back, and get $5 in loyalty credit when the card is registered.

How does shipping work for coffee gifts?

Orders over $80 ship free anywhere in Canada, and you can pick up free at our Guelph cafés. Two bags and a Sample Pack, or a bag and an AeroPress with a mug, gets you there.
